Christmas table in Ukraine takes place without the traditional corner, this classic dish is prepared in many different ways. Before you – the recipe Transcarpathian Kuti.

Description of preparation:

Transcarpathian kutya of wheat with dried fruit to prepare just. Need to pre-fill the wheat with water (at night). Then wheat need to cook. Mac is triturated, the nuts and fruits we grind and mix everything.

Ingredients:

  • Wheat — 1 Cup
  • Dried Fruits — 300 Grams
  • Walnuts — 150 Grams
  • Mak — 100 Grams
  • Honey — 3 Tbsp. spoon
  • Sugar — 3 Tbsp. spoon
  • Salt — to taste

Servings: 4-5

How to prepare “Kutia Transcarpathian”

Rinse the wheat and cover with water (2 tbsp.) for the night.

Mac, pour a glass of water and leave overnight.

In the morning, wheat in the same water bring to boil and cook until tender, but not less than 30 minutes.
Rinse in cold water, drain the water or remove with a slotted spoon wheat.

With poppy drain (a little water can be left).
Poppy grind in a nut or in a mortar with pestle before the advent of the poppy milk.

To Mac add honey and sugar, stir to dissolve the sugar.

In a hot pan to dry the walnuts for 5 minutes.
To break hands into small pieces.
Dried fruits pour boiling water for 5 minutes.
Drain the water.
Dried fruit cut into small cubes.
Wheat mixed with walnuts, dried fruit, poppy seed (with honey and sugar).
