I want to introduce you to a wonderful dessert of Oriental cuisine. Those little cakes choux pastry, generously soaked with sweet syrup. Interested? Then see the recipe how to cook tulumba.

Description of preparation:

For me this dessert was a revelation. Choux pastry that is fried in oil and soaked in a sweet sugar syrup, are incredibly juicy and tasty cakes! I hope the recipe will appeal to you!


  • Water — 125 Ml
  • Flour — 125 Grams
  • Salt — 1-2 Pinches
  • Saffron — 1-2 Pinches
  • Butter — 40 Grams
  • Egg — 2 Pieces
  • Water — 200 Ml (syrup)
  • Sugar — 200 Grams (syrup)
  • Citric acid — 1-2 Pinches (syrup)
  • Vegetable oil — 1 Cup (for frying)

How to cook “Tulumba”

First you need to prepare sugar syrup, it needs to be completely cooled when it is immersed hot tulumba. So, in a convenient saucepan, mix sugar, water, citric acid. Bring the syrup to a boil, boil for a few minutes and then remove from heat. Cool.

Now let’s start cooking the choux pastry for dessert. In a saucepan combine water, butter and saffron, a pinch of salt. Put on medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.

Do not pour large portions sifted flour and stir briskly for. The dough will be smooth, uniform, and flavorful!

The dough is ready!

Fill a pastry bag or a syringe test. Head — star.

In a cauldron or a deep frying pan heat the vegetable oil, squeeze the dough with a length of about 5-6 cm, with scissors cut the edge. Tulumba should float freely in the oil. With a slotted spoon and mix gently. Fry until Golden brown.
